Death

Black flowers in a meadow
Dark birds lurk around.
Nazi foes in the ghetto
bodies drop, a repeated sound.

At a place so white and mellow,
white birds glide through the sky.
Greeted expectedly by a voice saying hello,
no longer have to hear the sad goodbye's

  1. "Nazi foes in the ghetto" , what the !?!? I do not understand that. Nazi + Ghetto = ? I don't even know how those two relate. I like the repetition, though, about the meadows. Also, I like how it transitions from Dark birds to White birds. I didn't pick up the heart behind this story.

  4. I like it but it is confusing. It also has like a really big jump. I do like the first stanza though because i could see the like dark images your trying to portray. It's interesting though.

  6. This poem made me think, and I have to ask if the ending is about someone going to Heaven? If so, it's a very nice image of Heaven. I like how you contradict with hard images and then quaint ones. I also really like the line "Greeted expectedly by a voice saying hello."

  7. Goodbyes are not spelled correctly sir! you are pretty much saying "goodbye is" xD
anyways my favorite line is "Black flowers in the meadow." I like black flowers that's why. I like how the black represents death. But i feel like there is not heart in the poem. It just shows birds, black flowers, bodies. What is the point you're trying to get at?! although how you showed the dark side of death and the better side of death.

I love poems about death so I like this poem. The title is straight foward like "THIS is what my poem is about". I liked the imagery. I don't actually know what the line I chose means but i did get a partial understanding from it. People killing each other in the hood like in those ghetto towns acting like Nazi's basically. They murder people how the nazi's murdered jews. I didn't actually think of a ghetto Nazi looking like people in Amboy. Lmfao not even I'm sorry people in Amboy wanna be ghetto.

I think this is a strong line. After reading it like 20 times I noticed the transition from dark to light. I pictured the spiritual rebirth of someone into a faith. The whole contrast between the two stanzas make it very clear.
